Appointments Update from October 1st 2025

Appointments

As from the 1st October 2025 a new total triage appointment system will be in place at Bridgeside Surgery.

What this means for our patients

Our on-the-day availability will be increased significantly as we will no longer be prebooking routine follow-up appointment.
If you have been contacted by the practice and requested by a Clinician to book a follow-up appointment including result follow-ups please use any of the following services that we offer.

Your options are:

  1. Fill in the AccuRx online request form on our website.
  2. Log into your NHS app and see if there are any online appointments available. These patient online appointments are the only appointments that can be booked in advance.
  3. If you don’t have internet access, please contact the surgery on 01323 441234. Our Reception team can help you complete an online request form.
  4. Visit the surgery, the reception team although they are no longer able to book appointments, the team will help you submit an online request form to the triage team if necessary.

Our services for making an appointment will be available from 8am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday. These requests will be actioned within 24hours. You will be contacted by a member of the triage administration team, arranging a call or face to face with a GP alternatively we will Care navigate you to a service that accommodates your needs best. For example, Minor injuries, Pharmacy services or should you need it A & E.

There is no change to our Home Visits Policy and our Care home residents will still receive ward rounds on a weekly basis.

New Automated Telephone System

We have a new telephone software system being installed at the practice to allow patients to be able to book appointments directly into our clinical system. This will reduce the time that you wait on the telephone lines. You will still have the option of being able to speak to our reception team if needed. We aim to launch this by 1st October 2025.

Please do not use our services for any of the following life threating emergencies.

  • signs of a heart attack Call 999 for any of these immediatelychest pain, pressure, heaviness, tightness or squeezing across the chest

We hope the changes we have made to our appointment system, online consultations and telephone services make us more accessible to our patients and our services accommodate your needs.
